History

From the thousands of Irish folk who immigrated to England at the turn of the last century, thence came John Lennon, the famous Beatle and…. Peter Lennon, the long lost and forgotten guitarist and composer.
Pete’s early claim to fame was when he jammed with Leonard Cohen in the 80’s. Pete went onto to record two albums with the Heroes signed to Polydor records before he then set up his own recording studio.
He was then commissioned by music publishers, De Woolfe, to write music for jingles and television. This lead to a successful TV campaign for One Cal soft drinks, along with commercials for the Royal Navy and Yardley.
He launched his own label, Castaways records, in the 90’s with three titles: “Living Planet", "Lagoon" & "Under the Orange Tree”. All published by Lennon Music.
www.lennonmusic.co.uk has been set up to promote Pete's work including Ashes 2009 cricket series project “England’s on Fire". This, and many other tracks will be available as MP3 downloads. Pete has always kept his passion for playing live music and is currently performing with The Mixtures and the Infinite Jazz Ensemble (see Dates for more info).
